The amazing neighbors of Rogers Park, in collaboration with the 49th Ward office, have organized to launch a grassroots, community effort to support our neighbors impacted by COVID-19. A part of this was the creation of a website where neighbors can find an array of resources (e.g. food assistance programs, unemployment information, and more) and learn how to get involved. Please note that this website is being updated constantly. If You Are Experiencing Symptoms of Coronavirus / COVID-19:

  1. Visit one of the testing locations to get tested for COVID-19.

  2. Do not go to work or do other in-person activities outside of your home.

  3. Monitor your symptoms carefully. Some common symptoms include dry cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. Cough and sneeze into your elbow or cover your mouth and nose with a tissue that you immediately throw away.

  4. Try to get rest and stay hydrated.

  5. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  6. Clean all surfaces that are touched often, like phones, computers, tablets, counters, tabletops, and doorknobs. Use household cleaning sprays or wipes according to the label instruction to make sure they are getting disinfected.

  7. If your symptoms get worse, call your healthcare provider immediately. If you have a medical appointment, call the healthcare provider ahead of time and tell them that you have or may have COVID-19.

  8. If you have trouble breathing, call 911. Notify the dispatch personnel that you have or may have coronavirus / COVID-19.

  9. As much as possible, stay in a specific room and away from other people in your home. Use a separate bathroom, if available, and avoid sharing personal items, like dishes, towels, and bedding. If you need to be around other people in or outside of the house, wear a facemask.

Business Assistance

We encourage our residents to continue supporting businesses. Buying gift cards for later use, ordering pick up, curbside or delivery can make a difference in these challenging times. Consider paying in cash when possible to alleviate the credit card fees.

The Rogers Park Business Alliance compiled a list of Rogers Park businesses that are open and their offerings. The list is organized by commercial corridor. With the changing news coming so often please call the business before visiting them or to make sure they have what you need. They also included businesses that are accepting donations. You can view that list by visiting

If you are a business and would like to be added to the list, email Ana at

Report Price Gouging

Have you seen price gouging at grocery stores or other retailers in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis? Attorney General Kwame Raoul has made it explicitly known that price gouging is illegal. Not only is it illegal, but it is also unethical. If you have seen an incident of price gouging, please complete an online consumer complaint form so his office can investigate it. Please note you do need to provide evidence of the price gouging when filing a complaint.
